Getting To Know Me

Geez, Fridays come around quickly!

Here are a few things you may not have known about me:

* when I feel strongly about something I will not let up.

* I have a lot of patience.

* but if pushed to my limit, get ready for battle.

* I love to observe people's behavior from afar. I find it fascinating.

* I was bullied by a school principal out of a teaching  job I loved.

* I am very political. In a way, I feel politics affects everything we do.

* Cruel/mean people are so difficult to deal with but need our help.

* Chocolate can be addictive. I know.

    1. Hi Craig! We all have fascinating traits I am sure. What's your favourite type of chocolate?

  2. Good Morning, Jim. I know you have the patience of a Saint, you put up with me and my ramblings. I have a thing for chocolate too. Did you have fun with your mound? I just imagine the feel of the sand under your feet as you waded through the shallow water to create your visual and I am jealous. Nice post!

    1. I am patient and was in the perfect line of work.....teaching. Outside teaching I am/was patient most of the time but saved it all for my job.

I really wish I had made that sand mound!! It was there and as the tide was coming in I thought I had better get a photo of it before it disappeared. Wonder who did make it?
Hey, soon you will be able to walk a beach hopefully and feel that sand!!

  3. Fascinating insights, Jim. I once had a bullying school principal, too (I think there are quite a few out there), who was surprised when I stood up for myself.
    Love your sand structure!

    1. I know there are Pat. I, along with 5 others he didn't hire originally, all left because they/we couldn't take it.
I was not responsible for that sand structure I'm afraid. It was there as we walked down beach. I liked it too!

  4. I had a principal bully me out of a job, too. He lied to me and said I could go get another teaching job the next day. I was so disappointed when I learned I could never teach again. Normally, I will not give in on something that's important to me. I'm still disappointed in myself for giving in to that principal.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Sorry to hear this Janie! i know how disabling that whole experience can be.
It took me a while to recover and feel better about myself. I was so angry for such a long time at that principal until one day I realized he was hurting as much or more than I was, no one would treat any body like that unless they were 'in bad shape'!

    2. That school continues to be considered an "F" school, one of the worst in Florida.

  5. How unfortunate about the principal, I hope that at some point he's realized his mistakes and feels badly...

I did enjoy your post--We have something in common, politics. I'm probably a bit too strong in my thoughts about them, and my husband and I can't really discuss it because he won't admit that HE'S wrong! :-) But during the election last year, I couldn't get enough of it, and took the day after the election off work so I could watch the coverage on TV, or hide if it didn't go the way I wanted it to.

  6. Great post, Jim! I always enjoy the things you share about yourself. Good for you for standing your ground when you are passionate about something. More people should do that!

  7. Hmmm- so are you saying that you are a little bit on the stubborn side??? Sigh--- I love that!! Good for you for never backing down. But I do want to know--- who can play stubborn the longest?? You or Ron???
