Contemplative Monday

The following passage is from 'Heart Advice, Weekly Quotes From Pema Chodron'.

A BRIEF PRACTICE FOR GROUNDING

"First, come into the present.

Flash on what's happening with you right now.

Be fully aware of your body, its energetic quality.

Be aware of your thoughts and emotions.

Next, feel your heart, literally placing your hand on your chest if you find that helpful.

This is a way of accepting yourself just as you are in that moment, a way of saying,
"This is my experience right now, and it's okay."

Then go into the next moment without any agenda."

    1. Yes I think so too Joanne. Nothing like 'nipping it in the bud' right off the bat, so to speak!!

  2. I'm going to attach this to a head band so it hangs right in front of my eyes and can be read over and over again throughout the day.

    1. That can be your mantra Mitch!
If only I can 'catch' myself before I it turns into something other than it isn't. That's the hard part.

    1. I guess it suggests that it is good for us to face our reality and understand better with what we are feeling.
There is always something about this 'lone' bench at the park in any season, Pat.

  7. This reminds me of the Stuart Smalley clips on SNL -- not to detract from the seriousness of Mistress Chodron, however. ;)

  10. Hi Jim! I'm finally up for going on-line to blogs. Thanks for your well wishes. My surgery last Wednesday knocked me on my tush much more than I expected. It didn't go as planned, and I will have to repeat it in three months if my gigantic and unexpected bone graft takes! Please take!!!!! That is one cold series of photos! But, finally, this s one PC thing I'm good at! The trouble is I have to do it more! I've read your recent posts ~ I could taste that Thai food! I'm hoping we get some good Thai food in Honolulu! Thanks for your Saturday photos! Loved to see Joseph Howe and Halifax City Hall! You're making me homesick!!!!! Have a great week! Oh, it's so good to see Ivan back! Hi to Ron and belly rubs to Sophie!
