Eternal Spring!

I/we will probably 'pay' for the past two posts on my homage to spring
but it was like mid-April here yesterday....take a look, I kid you not:

Runners with bare legs!

The water in the foreground was frozen solid a few days ago.

Even this caterpillar thought it was April as it crawled across the path......
in mid-January.

And Sophie was very pleased to find this unfrozen stream to quench her thirst.

I know! I will be eating my words.....very soon.
But I hope I won't have to.

    1. 'Rugged up'! There's a new term for me. I like it and will use it freely from now on! lol
Such contrasts there in climate Davine. You know what? I'd rather be chilly than frying in the heat.

  6. I hope your springlike weather lasts a little longer, Jim! Anytime I go past a middle or high school, I see kids in shorts, no matter what the weather is. It's quite funny actually, watching the teenaged boys ~ trying so hard to look cool and freezing their tushes off! LOL! We're off to Breck tomorrow where there has been a ton of snow this winter. My friend Cheri and I are going to tackle snowshoeing. The last time I tried that, my snowshoes were wood strung with moose gut??? Should be interesting! Have a great day!

    1. We have a few of those guys here too all winter long!
Have a ball in Breck and I hear it is very COLD there! A little bird told me!
I bet snowshoeing is as exhausting as cross-country......let us know.

  7. Wow, it does look like spring there! And I hope that caterpillar realizes it's not quite spring and heads back underground before the temperature plummets! Hopeful (and foolish) little critter :)

Our weather has warmed up here, as well, but we had a sprinkling of snow, so it still looks like winter.

  9. Jim - look at all the black on that caterpillar. I think that means harsh weather ahead! (For your sake, I hope not...) I was nearly frozen riding the lift today - blue sky and sun but that darn WIND!

I can just feel those winds going through me on that lift Barb! That was always the hardest part of skiing for me....freezing on the way up! Best part.....warming up on the way down.

  16. Jim-- I'm so jealous-- we have had only gray and cold here--- I'm sick of it-- may need therapy to get over it--(or a cruise!)
