A Blustery Friday's Anecdote
Pictures taken yesterday.......not today!
Just got back from the bakery (today is bagel day) and on the way it started to rain and kick up quite a wind. Lots of rain predicted over the next couple of days.
So what better way to embrace the weather than to have a little laugh.
Some of you may remember that our niece, Brynn , was in England for ten days earlier this month.
She had lots of stories for us the other night when she and her mom, Mim (my sister), were here for supper. Hubby Ron has already documented this on his blog.
One experience Brynn had while in London, besides trying to figure out what every they were saying, was when she needed directions. She spotted an older lady and she approached her.
The lady was very forthcoming with the needed information. Brynn, who has always been a 'touchy-feely' type, was very thankful and proceeded to give the woman a big, Brynn hug.
The woman could sense what was about to happen as Brynn closed in on her. The woman pulled away and stated:
"Oh dear! I'm British! We only show affection to horses and dogs!"
Brynn thought this was hilarious and very strange (as she hugs everyone, everywhere, anytime).
Brynn gave her hug anyway and proceeded to where she was going.
Got me wondering if ALL British people are like this. What do you say, Tracey and John and Penny?
