Andrea Bocelli - The Pearl Fishers Duet

I have liked this piece of music by Georges Bizet for a very long time. Every time I hear it, it's as though for the first time.

It is from the opera 'The Pearl Fishers'. The copy I have is by two other tenors but Bocelli and Terfel do a wonderful job.

If this doesn't get you moving on this beautiful Sunday morning, nothing will. Enjoy.

  1. Good Morning!
I've probably killed my downloads for the day, but I don't care, he's great. My brother went to see him several times and couldn't stop raving about his voice!
    Beautiful, simply beautiful!

  2. Thank you so much--it WAS a beautiful way to start the day. Isn't it just amazing what the human voice is capable of?

  3. Oh, I must play some opera today! I am so in love with the quiet here that I forget to play music. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a wonderful Sunday and give Sophie a hug from me.--Inger

  4. Beautiful. I have no idea what they are saying.
I will have to download it to my ipod.

  5. Thanks Jim. I did my most dreaded exercises with this blaring, and they went quickly!

  6. oh, it did ! what a way to start the day. thank you.

Have a very happy musical week !

  7. If you enjoyed that version, then, listen to this one - Jussi Björling and Robert Merrill

  8. The Pearl dishes was the very first opera I went to in Leeds in Yorshire 1985
I fell in love with good opera then!!!
    "Au fond du temple saint"
    is a touch homoerotic too!!!

  9. I never heard it before. I loved it. Very nice. Thank you for sharing. : )
