Sunday's Selection

Today is my brother Bernard's birthday. He would have been 59 years old. It is strange hearing this age. He died when he was 19 in 1972. We were close and it would have been so good to have 'grown up' with him being around.

He had a short but very full life. He loved music and had very diverse tastes.......one of his favourite groups was the 'Four Seasons'. This selection is dedicated to the great memories I have of Bernard.

Nancy over at A Rural Journal has a great selection of photos by a wide variety of blogger/photographers every Sunday with her Your Sunday Best. Check it out.

  1. It must have been so sad to lose your brother so young. It would be sad at any age... but there's so much of life you were not able to share. I'm so sorry, Jim. The Four Seasons are a great group, and I love this song!

  3. My heart is with you. I had a sister who died at the age of 29. Like your brother, she's been gone more years than she was here. I think of her every day. She also loved the Four Seasons and music always brings back great memories. Thanks for sharing.

  5. With my Sister being ill, I may end being an only child one day. I'm jealous that you have a very large Family. I'm sure your brother is watching over you.
    And Happy Birthday to him.
    Your Friend, m.

  13. I remember when my sister got her first record player and two records to go with it: Big Girls Don't Cry, and Sherry. Sure brings back memories. I think your brother would have loved growing up with you, too, Jim. He'd be proud.

  14. I too would like to hear more about your brother. While not as young, my brother killed himself at 46. The void has been enormous.
