I had something similar in my youth, Jim -- where it is now, I have no idea. This is beautiful and definitely something I would have picked up. :)
My Rare One and I have a thing for Japan too. We love the Japanese esthetic of simplicity and minimalism.
Such a lovely picture - elegant!
I think simplicity and tidiness are shown in much asian art. My sister adopted her kids from Korean and has many fine pieces. Lovely.
It's beautiful. Japanese simplicity brings peace. You made me think of something. My Aunt used to make Oriental flower arrangements. They were simple and powerful at the same time. Thanks for the memory.
Even though I'm working on my follower project I just had to check out your Retro post. Great stuff.
You have a very eclectic collection of neat things, Jim!
I've never seen a billfold anything like it. Very cool.
Really beautiful, and I love the simplicity also!
I like it too. m.
i love things oriental, not just japanese. i have things from egypt, india, thailand, china, syria, etc... and impressionist painters were influenced in many case with japan, with cloisonism... Van Gogh for example!! and they are my favorite painters, along with some fauvists.:)~HUGZ
