Eclectic Tastes

I thought that since Ellen Page has just very recently 'come out'
it would be appropriate to show her and give her some support here.

Ms.Page is from Halifax which makes her special to Ron and I
and to many others.
We have never met her but have met and know her father and step-mother.
They are each intelligent and compassionate.
I can appreciate and understand the old saying:
'An apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.'

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

    1. Thanks Jean. I think her parents must have been very concerned and are now relieved that some of the pressure has lifted.

  2. I think it's a real shame that anyone's sexuality is still considered newsworthy. I admire her courage, but look forward to the day when the response to this type of announcement is 'so what?'.

    1. So do I AJ. Maybe because she is leading the way for many younger LGBTQ kids, there will come a time when people won't care.
Good to see you and have a great Sunday. I hope you are not flooded out!!!

    1. What a relief it must be for her Debra. Now she can move forward peacefully in life......as much as anyone in that business can.

  6. i will be so happy when no one has to 'come out' anymore. we all should be able to just be who we are. we shouldn't notice someone who is gay anymore than we notice people being hetero. who cares?

    1. I hear you! But the sad fact remains is that some people do care. And when all the gays have come out....I wonder what will be next?

  8. Love her and LOVE Juno. I went to beauty school through high school and a lot of my friends were pregnant as teens. That movie captures it so well and oh my god I cry my eyes out!

  10. Thanks for sharing this, Jim.
I didn't know who Ellen Page was until I saw her face ~ and then I realized: Juno! Loved that movie.
You and Ron show the world by your quiet example that what counts is the love two people share, not what kind of people they are. The growing acceptance of gay couples reminds me of the growing acceptance of black and white couples (and other combos) over the past few decades. Times do change, and things do get better.
People have to have the courage to stand up for what they believe in, and also they must have the courage to support others who take such risks. I want a better world for my amazing and gay nephews. The ordinary, but rich and happy, life you and Ron share gives me such hope for them.
It's always hard to be different ~ why can't we all just be accepted and appreciated for our true selves?
