Eclectic Tastes

The past couple of weeks have been hot and humid here in Nova Scotia,
not really your typical July weather. (But what is typical nowadays?)

This very uncomfortable weather takes me back to the summer of 1973
when I was in university starting a 12 month education course
at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.

It was sweltering the whole summer long while I was sitting in class.

This song by Roberta Flack was heard everywhere at the time.

Enjoy and have a great Sunday.

  1. It's supposed to heat up here this week. We've been very comfortable so far. Glad you're supposed to be relieved a bit.

    Thanks for the music!

  2. I love Roberta Flack. It's hotter than hell here, but it's to be expected. It's Florida during July.

    Love,

    2. I try not to complain, but it's hard. I didn't realize how unrelenting the heat would be here.

  3. This is a great song, Jim! Perfect for a Sunday morning. We've been experiencing the same heat wave, but it broke last night. Today is sunny and COOL! Absolutely gorgeous outside. I hope that coolness comes your way soon, if it hasn't already.

  4. Still one of my favourite songs! In the summer of 1973, I had just finished Grade 10. I don't remember what the weather was like that summer, but I'm sure it was hot. It's almost always hot on the prairies!

    1. I guess you prairie people are accustomed to hot weather more than we Maritimers!
This song is a classic, I guess.

  6. I like this one, and will carry it around all day.
I am resigned to the fact that it is July, there is nothing one can do about it when you live in the "Devil's Armpit", except wait.

  9. summer of '73...wowzer, what was I doing? I remember this song quite well but the rest of it is kind of blurry, I hear that happens as we grow slightly older. I'm sure it was sunny and a beach was involved as was my hubby to be, come to think of it we were planning our wedding...hmmm. enjoy it while it lasts!

    1. '....grow slightly older'......love this! May I use it as well?
Some days 1973 seems so long ago...other days it seems like yesterday. I would have probably been doing the same Joanne, except it was against the law and that's why we waited 35 years to 'tie that ole knot'! lol
