Getting To Know Me

Must be Friday! Time for some 'unveiling'!!!

You know, the older I get the more I believe in some kind

of reincarnation when this life is over/kaput. I can't see that

the energy it took to make/create me is going anywhere fast after death. I have come to the

conclusion that since energy cannot be destroyed, it must go back from whence it came.......

.......the universe.

Some believe they will come back as more evolved humans or have another crack
at becoming more evolved over many 'lifetimes'. I would be happy, if I could use that word,
to 'return' as any sentient life-form. I think the fact that we are here in the first place
is such a lucky/chance-happening in the cosmic scheme of things.

This works for me.
How about you?

  2. Oh I agree so much with you Jim. I can't believe we ar put on this earth just to die and disappear.

  4. Sorry, but I disagree Jim. I view us as any other living being -- we are born, we live, we die. Kaput.

What we do during our living days is up to us. (You asked.)

    Have a marvelous day!

    1. You don't disagree at all Nancy, well I guess we just see it differently....this is what I was getting at too. The bodies of Jim and Nancy will cease alright but the energy that got our bodies here will instantly dissolve into the atmosphere/universe/cosmos and become part of what makes the universe exist in the first place.
Yes I couldn't agree more that we are as any other living being....be it an ant or a bacteria. It takes an amount of energy (ion particles) to make all of us.
You have a marvelous day too Nancy.

  5. I'm COMPLETELY in line with your thinking... works for me ~ and that's all that matters ;-)!

  6. I'm sure all our physical atoms and elemental bits get recycled into some new configuration of something or another. But I believe that our personal consciousness ends forever at death and that there is no "afterlife" in that regard.

    1. I agree Debra that what I, Jim Cuvelier, is or was will no longer be after death but the energy/bits that got together to 'make' him (which is separate from physical) will ride on into the cosmos.....

  7. I am not sure if I believe it or want to believe it. I do think that some people do seem like old souls though. As if they have been around before.

My nephew who lost his friend to suicide "sees" the lost friend all the time in the energy of other people.

    1. Hi Chania. Now that opens up another chapter in this idea....is energy interchangeable and spontaneous? Hm-m-m.....

  8. Although I don't think I have your thoughtful level of spirituality, I do agree with you on this. I don't necessarily accept the idea of reincarnation in the way many people talk about it — i.e., constantly evolving; in a former life I was an Egyptian princess; "My Mother the Car" (American TV show); etc. — but I do have this sense that our essence, our energy, goes somewhere. Nice to think about I guess.

    1. It is good to think that some part of us goes in other directions for eternity!!
I think you mean 'past lives' I guess.....not sure how I feel about this. But hey, just imagine the possibilities out there Mitch! Beyond my thinking capability!

  9. I believe too, that the energy within us continues in some other form.

  11. Energy can take on many forms. I believe that we do live on. I believe that we decide how long that might be. But my thoughts are not that of any church that I have found.... I believe that the things we teach those that come after us and how they live their lives, is our way of living on.
One person may have a great effect on how the world lives and works while another may simply grow forgotten after a few years.

I believe teachers are our greatest asset. Not only in the lessons they teach but in the way the students learn to live by the example put in front of them.
By simply living life as a gay couple for 40 years, you Jim and Ron have changed life in Canada forever for future gay youth. You've set an example of love and acceptance. For that, I thank you. For that, you will live a good long time past your expiration date.

    1. Energy by example....never thought of that in those terms, Stew. The only reason we got married was to make it easier for future people to do so.
'Energy' is everywhere....what we see, do, hear etc.
      Thanks for this Stew.

    2. Imagine you are the end ball on a Newton's Cradle. The energy from you hitting the other balls is reflected at the other end. Whatever energy you hit it with will be mirrored and passed on and on.

  12. I've often said that I would come back as a rock. Maybe I am not alone and that is why there are so many rocks at the beach.

Too tired to go deeper into the subject. ;-)

  13. I've believed in reincarnation since my teens. It makes sense to me, and I've kept that belief going. We are energy, and that energy has to go somewhere.

    1. I didn't always believe in reincarnation Martha. Over the past 10 years or so
I started reading and understanding more about it. I don't think Jim Cuvelier will come back as Jim Cuvelier but some of his energy will mix with other energies out there and will form something 'living'.

  14. These Friday posts are my favorites. I love getting to know you. I don't believe in reincarnation, but it's totally cool with me if other people believe in it. I don't think everyone has to have the same beliefs for them to be true. What's true for one person may not be true for another.

    Love,

Janie, can you imagine what a boring world this would be if we all thought and believed the same things!! We come to our own conclusions based on what our experiences have been in this life and you couldn't be more correct....'what is true for one, may not be for another. Thanks for this Janie.

    2. I'm so glad you feel that way. It makes me sad when people become angry because someone has beliefs different from theirs.

    3. Janie, I learn from everyone whether I agree with them or not is almost irrelevant.

  15. Hi all! I have been having trouble with my 'replying' to your comment and them staying. Some remain and most don't. So I apologize if my comment to you is not here. I will find out what's going on. I'll keep trying and see which ones 'stick'!

  16. I've always thought that all that energy that is me, be it a soul or my spirit or what you want to call it, it has to go somewhere. And if it's the thing that makes the grass grow, and the trees green, and the birds sing then I am just fine with that! And if it is something where I am part of my grandbabes lives and on and on, well that is fine too. Enjoy your weekend.

    1. The old ego of ours goes at our last breath, I feel anyway, and it may be a bit refreshing to 'be' something else without that cumbersome ego we acquire in a human life.
      Hope all is well Joanne.

  17. Thoughtful post, Jim! You are always stirring the pot and I like a good discussion! Okay, I am prob the only one here who believes I have a soul. And, as a Christian, I believe in heaven as a place I will go when my soul leaves my body. I believe that our heart ceases and we take our last breath because our soul has left our body.

If I believed in reincarnation, my luck I'd come back as a mosquito.

Hi Liz, you know I respect your beliefs and I doubt that you are the only one here who feels what you do. You don't hesitate to stand up and be counted!! I like that very much in a person.
We are not too far apart at all actually....all semantics.
LOL! There is probably a good reason if I came back as a mosquito....to teach something or other! LOL!
