Thinking Out Loud

I belong to an on-line activist group which applies peaceful pressure, through signatures,

to politicians and governments around the world. Their main goal is to help stop injustices

from occurring to fellow human beings.

It is incredible how this organization has affected change over the past couple of years simply

by presenting to the 'powers that be' tens of thousands of signatures of people from all over the world.

         Kerria blossoms.
The power of one single signature......

    1. Imagine if EVERYONE realized that?! Maybe governments and multi-nationals would stand up and listen to us.

    1. That seems to get lost when our governments are about their business and lose touch with the people.

    1. It is Davine! I hope I didn't mislead you in thinking I helped create this organization (Avaaz)....I didn't! I simply joined, like anybody can, and sign my names to efforts I agree with.

    1. It is Nancy and they have been able to stop and/or slow down governments from moving ahead with laws/actions that affect people in threatening ways.
In fact some governments are trying to shut Avaaz (the organization) down because they find them 'threatening' and are being held more accountable, and the governments don't like this one little bit.

    1. Hi Liesl! It is a way we 'regular' folk can have a 'say' in how things may turn out that affect us in some way or another.

    1. It's something that enabled me to feel I could contribute, a little. Tens of thousands of people all over belong to Avaaz. Yet, it is run by only a 'handful' of people.

  12. When people unite for a cause, they are a force to be reckoned with. I like that it's peaceful pressure; that's always the best way. Beautiful photos, Jim. What flower is that? You just know I had to ask! LOL...

    1. Thanks Martha.....it is the only way!
Now to the 'important stuff'! The flower is called Kerria. It grows in long stalks out of which the blossoms sprout. It will spread (via underground) slowly but surely and will brighten up any part of your garden.
