Eclectic Tastes

I was inspired again today as I looked at Pat's recent post about a Blackbird. If you are not familiar with Pat's blog, Bailey Road, you must check out her incredible photography. She inspires me. Click on her name in the first line.

To go along with Pat's photo I found this version of 'Blackbird' by Sarah McLachlan (who by the way grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia).

Enjoy, and Happy Mother's Day to all.

  2. This song always brings me back to when my son was an infant. There was a version of this on the lullaby tape I used to play/sing to him, and it makes me a little teary-eyed (in a good way!) when I hear it. Thanks for bringing up the memory on such a special day. :)

  3. Thank you for that beautiful music. That is for me the most beautiful rendition (voice and guitar) I have ever heard of that already beautiful song.

  5. "Blackbird" is one of my favourite Beatles songs too. She does a lovely version. "Take these broken wings and learn to fly" -- what all of us must do.

    1. And most of us learn to 'soar' quite well.

  6. Thanks, Jim, for the mention.
Sarah's voice is lovely and I love that song. I've even taught myself to fumble through it on the piano.
BTW, a lot of musical talent has come out of your area hasn't it?

    1. You are welcome Pat. Nice to sit down and play a tune once in a while, I bet.
There have been a few singer songwriters from Nova Scotia....must be the salt air! lol
