Follow The Leader

On the weekend the 'two amigos' (that's right..two...as Ron was under the weather)
went down to the 'Atlantic Trail', the grass dunes, for our daily walk.

Usually when we 'three' are together, Sophie assumes her
walking position between Ron and myself.

Either Ron is in the lead, then Sophie and me in back.....
or vise-versa.

When there are just two of us, she takes over the lead and 'scouts' ahead.....

just in case.

    1. He is Debra, thanks. It's that time of year and Ron usually gets those '24-36 hour' colds!!

  2. Hey Jim! I read your post on the police horses yesterday, then had to gallop to make my 8:00 a.m. breakfast date with my friend Cheri. The dark horse with the gorgeous white feet and face instantly made me think of Boomer and Terry at Moondance Ranch. I miss Terry's posts so much! I miss Ivan's too! I thought he was going to return in September, but obviously he hasn't been able too. :( That dunes trail looks so inviting ~ I could jump right into your photo and walk it! I'm sorry that Ron was under the weather ~ no fun! I hope he's feeling better now. Take care!

    1. Hi Lisa. I didn't mean to alarm anyone. It's winter and Ron catches 'things' very easily BUT also gets rid of them quickly too! He's a hardy fellow!

  4. I hope Ron gets his flu shots every year. And I hope he's better by now. I miss Terry and David, Boomer and everyone at Moondance ~ have you been in contact with her? I have been worried.

    1. Hi Inger. Yes Ron got his flu shot but he has always picked up 'things' which last for 24 hours or so. His immune system kicks in and kicks it out!!
Terry told us that David was sick and is on the mend but it has been slow.

  5. When all three are there, she's comfortable. She's got to step up her game and go into protection mode for her Daddy Jim when it's just the two.
She is such a great dog, I could have played with her for hours.

    1. That is so true Stew! You nailed it about Sophie!
She could/would have played with you in the park a lot longer as well. Maybe next time.....

  6. Sophie is such an outgoing, self-assured dog. My little Chloe is slowly gaining independence and confidence and showing her inner playfulness.

    1. Sophie is the type of dog that learned at a very young age to stand on her own two/four feet at 'day care' with a pack of other dogs. She can really handle herself and is very self-assured of herself.
Chloe, Pat, will shine as soon as she feels safe....which appears to be happening already!
