Contemplative Monday

"In any moment you could put your full attention on the immediacy of your experience, you could look at the floor or the ceiling, or just feel your bottom sitting on the chair........You can just be here. Instead of being not here, instead of being caught up, absorbed in thinking, planning , worrying---caught in the cocoon where you're cut off from your sense perceptions, cut off from the sounds and the sights, cut off from the power and the magic of the moment---instead of that you could choose to pause."
---Pema Chodron from her book Taking the Leap

  1. The next time my boss catches me sitting around looking at the ceiling, I'm going to blame you.
    Enjoy your Monday.

  2. Mindfulness and appreciating the moments that make up our lives is essential! Lovely shot. But how sad that those mighty trees have been toppled over...

  8. Jennifer, actually this photo was taken in the fog....the grain you see is fog that has been 'lightened' up a bit.....the result was this.
