No Big Deal........So Far

Had a good walk through the park yesterday with Ron and Sophie.
It was -7C but not really feeling that cold at all.
Maybe being in the woods cut down on the wind-chill.

I think we are adjusting to winter conditions......
snow everywhere, compacted on trails.

I was surprised at the number of people out and about
with their dogs or by themselves.

For those in the Northern Hemisphere,
are you getting used to winter?
Or are you wishing it away and waiting for spring?
I know last year I couldn't wait for warmer weather
because the winter was ridiculous.

Sophie was in heaven at her favourite park.

  1. Our winter has only just started! Minus 5c on Monday night, and minus 4 last night, glorious frost, and sunny days. My sort of winter.
We had snow here( Harpenden and all places North ) on Sunday night, but we were on the warmer south coast, and it had nearly all gone by the time we got home on Sunday afternoon.

    1. On your south coast, Frances, I assume you are affected by the Gulf Stream.

  2. You are of such tough stock. No windchill, so -7C probably felt like -3. A heatwave!

    1. 'We're having a heatwave......a tropical heatwave."
That is a huge difference in winter, Mr.Man!

    1. What I hear, Joyce, is that we will get this BIG one Saturday night....they call it a nor'easter here.
I must admit that I love the fresh air of winter and the absence of bugs!!

  4. I love the winter photo, Jim. We're under a high wind and winter storm warning here in the mountains of CO. I haven't ventured out today, but will soon snap on the cross country skis. I'm not ready for winter to be over quite yet. Ask me again in May!

  5. -7C? Why that's practically spring weather, Jim :) I'm not a fan of winter but when it's not too cold I can manage. Plus there are bonuses like no bugs! Still, my favourite season of the year is spring and I always look forward to that.

    1. Isn't it funny that most of us prefer seasons other than summer? BUGS!!! HEAT!!!!
      Have a great day, MArtha!

  6. Down here, the heat waves have passed, a cooler 25C the other day,( after lots of days at 30C plus.) and some welcome very light rain. I am longing for winter!!! Maybe not quite as cold as some places up North, but even a cool 3C would be welcome right now. Stay safe, I saw on TV that the coming snow storm is likely to be a big one. Stock up on coffee, some food, and other necessities as you see fit.

    1. That storm is going a little further south of Nova Scotia, so we will miss the brunt of it, Jean. Hoping it will not veer to the north!
Lots of coffee, food and supplies...check!

  7. And I thought your Monday photo of the ocean and snow and sky was spectacular! This is amazing! Perhaps I'm just hungry for the sight of your photography which I have been missing. Thanks for your kind comment on my post! I'm going to postpone a new post for another week. I have needed some time to clear my head by getting things under control on the home front. I am a-okay; just dealing with some irritating setbacks starting with my computer going down the day after Christmas ... garage door, fridge, television and cable service being the other main aggravations. Sometimes it all hits at once! LOL! Have a good one, my compassionate friend!

    1. Good question, Louise! Why do things happen all at once like that? Best thing to do is laugh at it all, like you did!! Not the end of the world as we know it, right? Now I'll hold you to tell me this when things start piling up for me!! lol
