Weather Or Not

The month of February in Nova Scotia is usually the 'longest' month of the year!

These clouds and sky reflect this time of year so accurately I feel.

The clouds remind us that we are still in mid winter and can expect cold and lots more of it.

The sky gives us hope that summer is somewhere down the road just waiting for us.

Since everyone else is talking about the weather lately, what is your favourite time of year and why?

  1. Beautiful photos, you have a true eye to capture the essence of nature in all seasons. My favourite, spring, new leaves, bulbs showing colours that shine after long winter days, warmer mornings, thick winter clothes banished to the wardrobe, and some blue skies. Springtime here is but a memory from last September. Greetings from Jean.

    1. Now I'm confused!! lol Spring in September just doesn't 'fit'.
I see why spring is your favourite Jean.....such a beautiful and hopeful time.
      Have a great weekend.

  2. Spring and Fall.
Spring, because of the new greenery sprouting everywhere.
Fall, for the colors as nature goes to sleep.
And me, I can dress moderately without sweating like in the summer.
It's all a matter of enjoying the view and feeling comfortable.

    1. I can relate to that! Lots of colour in both those seasons. I too do not like the heat of summer. Thank god we can hop in car and be at the beach in no time to cool off.

  3. I adore spring because of all the new beginnings...bulbs sprouting, first signs of the garden waking up, trees budding, baby animals...it's all beautiful and uplifting. So many awakenings, so many new beginnings...

  6. First: Thank you so much for the compliment on my header photo. It meant so much to me, because you are such a great photographer. I feel that nature just displays itself to me here. I just have to be aware of its beauty and try to capture it. Winter is my favorite season. I love the cold, the snow, the rain. When I was young, I was a speed skater, and I loved to cross country ski. So, it's winter. Which one is yours?

    1. Winter too. But I also like early spring and fall. As long as it's cool, I am happy!!
Yes Inger, where you live has incredible vistas/landscape and you capture it very well.

  7. Such a beautiful sky!
Summer is my favorite season, which for us is the month of June, lol. Winter is my least favorite, although I can see the beauty. The work is hard in the winter, and I worry about the horses.

    1. That would make sense to me Terry too if I had horses. I guess all the seasons have pluses. As long as it's not too hot, I can handle it.

  8. That's a tough question, Jim! I love all the seasons for different reasons! I even love winter! I'm just thinking about the northern lights dancing and shimmering across the starry sky and the beauty of the boreal forest and the frozen lakes, or the bee-filled apple blossoms in the Annapolis Valley in spring, or warm water and beach sand dunes on the North Shore of PEI in the summer, or the glory of golden aspens against blue, blue Colorado skies! Next time ask something easier!

    1. OK OK! lol There is beauty everywhere. I can just imagine dancing northern lights!! Must be a wonderful sight, Louise.
Yes June in the Annapolis Valley is lovely....I can smell the blossoms!
And of course PEI in the summer.....ah-h-h-h.
      Just may change my answer!

    1. YEP! As much as I like winter, February is always the 'test' for that theory.

  10. Late Spring. Longer, warmer days. Flowers everywhere. Green leaves and fresh grass.

So far since winter began, we've seen 2 days of sunshine here in Michigan. I miss the sun.
