Down By The Riverside

It was so good to get out of town yesterday and hit the road to the Valley.

We went to the canal in the Gaspereaux Valley just outside Ron's hometown of Wolfville.

Sophie was in heaven! But a little hesitant about going for a swim.....
......it's February in Nova Scotia don't forget.

Oh, and Ron was so in his element!

  1. Sounds like a lovely time. And Ron does look very much like he's in his element. Give me a camera and set me free outdoors to take photos, and I'll be in my element, too!

    1. Thanks Kathy! Well now, that all depends....usually it begins to warm up around the beginning of May but we could get lucky like we did last year when March was the beginning of a spring for us here in Nova Scotia. Can never tell sometimes.

We are both over the 'bugs' we had. How's your 'bug' doing? Gone I hope.

    2. Better today, not ready to go out and about though.

Ever hear that song about down by the riverside? It has been playing in my head off and on all day. "I met that little brown-eyed gal... down by the riverside!"

There, now it can play in your head too! LOL!

    1. Thanks Keith. I named Sophie after my great great grandmother, Sophia. Not that I knew her mind you, but I thought it was a good name too like your sister did.

    1. That she is, Ivan! This was one the first places we took her as a puppy and she is in heaven here especially in the summer when she can dive into the canal whenever she wishes.

    1. I couldn't agree more Louise! I remember the first time I saw it as I was walking over the hill and down into the valley on my way to 'practice teaching' in the small elementary school in Gaspereaux village back in 1973! I was blown away by the beauty in front of me.
