Thinking Out Loud

ON THE ROCKS

When I was taking this series of Sophie 'on the rocks' yesterday,

I couldn't help but realize how accustomed to and adapted

with these rocks she has become.

At first, about a year ago, she would not walk on these ledges.

She would walk around them and meet us at the next clearing.

Now that we have been doing this 'hike' on a regular basis for a few months now,

and this is what we have to access to get those bricks I am so obsessed about,

Sophie, as well as the two of us, are getting better at climbing and maneuvering
up and over these rocks.

Goes to show what a little practice will do.

  1. Yes, practice does make perfect. She looks quite confident! You too, because I know you are taking nice pictures without them being the least fuzzy. Great balance! I would be all over the place. ;-)

  2. Also shows how smart and adaptable Sophie is. What a trooper! Now you just have to teach her to haul bricks.

  5. You could make little paniers for Sophie to wear across her back, one on each side, and then she could help you carry some bricks home each time too! P.S. Love the new header photo!

    1. Thanks Debra. We are looking for something similar that will fit her and do the job. She would like to help whether she knows that or not. She loves to please!

  8. Pretty header!
When our Mickey came from the shelter, he couldn't even walk on the gravel path to the barn. Now he's a mountain goat!
