Eclectic Tastes

Glenn Gould was and remains to be one of Canada's treasures.

The 'Goldberg Variations' are among his finest work.

Well before his 50th birthday he predicted he wouldn't live past that age.

He died shortly into his 50th year.

What I always enjoyed, along with his ability to make the piano 'speak',

was how he would make vocal sounds during his playing/recording

which were quite audible to the listener.

I hope you enjoy this.

  3. I love watching him play. He is physically into every note and appears to be pouring over the keys...he's (was) a real treasure.

    1. He was quite the character at the piano......very eccentric looking and totally absorbed.

  4. I've been listening to these lately - his recordings from both 1955 and 1981. He played so beautifully.

  7. This is beautiful. I had completely forgotten we have this on CD. Thanks for the reminder. I make it a point of not predicting my own demise. I strongly believe in self-fulfilling prophecy.
