Hey Curly!

As you can see Sophie's (click her name to go to her blog) hair is beginning to grow back and getting longer.

Her last hair-cut was the end of April. We wanted it to be short for spring and summer.

I like her hair at this length....not too long. The curls are starting to form and soon it will a few inches long

inches long and time to go back to her groomer, Sandra for another #3 summer cut.

I know, winter is coming and why go shorter? Well, since she does LOVE to play in the snow

and the occasional icy puddle at the beach, shorter hair is easier to clean and dry.

In these photos Sophie had just had her daily swim in the Northwest Arm in Halifax.

  1. Congratulations Sophie! Not every gal can pull off a short cut like that and still look fabulous.

  4. Those lovely curls are the poo in you, and they look great!
Sometimes the fur just grows too fast, don't it?
You like getting a trim though, don't you?

    1. Yes it does! Now if she was a 'Golden Doodle' (a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle) her hair would be entirely different.....all curls and thick. These little wavy curls you see now would grow into a long straggly coat.....just like me in the 60's! lol

  5. Aww... I love Sophie's curls. But what I love most about her is her eyes. Those captivating eyes... the window to her sweet, beautiful doggie soul.

  8. she is such a pretty colour. How about the shedding? We don't mind the longer hair on Charlie but the shedding is making me batty.

    1. Well, she sheds about 30% thanks to her poodle Mama! Hardly noticeable compared to our last dog!

  9. If I just saw the curls and didn't know they were Sophie's, I'd think I was looking at pics of a Chesapeake Bay Retriever!

    1. You would be surprised, Terry, and maybe then again you wouldn't, how many people initially think she a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Depending on the length of her coat, she could 'be' a number of dog breeds.

  10. I love her curls; she certainly wears them well. And the colour of her fur is gorgeous. How does she manage to look so good with all the heat and humidity. My hair looks horrible in the summer!

    1. She let's her hair go 'naturelle'! I did too, when I had hair!! Martha, you could experiment with a form of Kingston Afro!! Go for it!! It would be like living in the 60's......which I know you missed by a couple of decades.
