Retro Saturday: 'Don't Kill All Your Pink'

I remember this fellow, Bob Ross, from way back. He has a manner about him that is very relaxing not to say interesting too. I love how he gets into what he is doing.....almost like in a trance. He has been parodied by a number of people.
I hope you take the time to 'experience' this artist....especially all you 'budding' artists out there!

If it's too cold to go outside today, sit back and watch Bob do his magic!

  1. I used to watch him every Saturday, he seemed like a gentle man. Even when I painted, it took me a day to make a simple picture and I was in awe of him.

  3. My mother, The Dowager Duchess, used to absolutely love this guy. I felt he insulted my "true artist" sensibilities. (But I think I was just jealous. I would have benefited from a dose of his serenity.)

  6. My sister and I used to watch him all the time!! To this day, we still quote him from time to time. He had a very distinct way of saying Persian Blue, that we just found amusing. I don't even know why, but we still crack up when one of us throws it out there. Yeah, we're weird!

  11. Hi Y'all,

    Just love the photos.

Yes, we watch him. Very comforting. Watched him when he was on originally. Remember watching him with my Mother, who was a painter with oils, water color and pastel.

  12. I watched him when I was laid up many years ago. He was soothing. I remember his "happy little clouds".

  13. They still run his shows around here every Saturday morning on public television. He really is SO laid back. It's fun to relax with a cup of coffee sometimes and watch his paintings come into form. Kind of magical.
