Getting There

The process of acceptance is slow but we are getting there. Some (people and places) more quickly than others. They appear to be terrified of the consequences. We really don't bite! lol

  1. We're lucky to be living in this time of social change and acceptance for our community.

  2. In my eyes. the last 10 years have been monumental. And I fully intend to keep the momentum going until I can't go any more.
A million words of thanks would not be enough for people like you and Ron that have gone ahead and proclaimed your love publicly. And then lived your life like anyone else would. You are shining examples of what we all should be. Thank You!

    1. Thanks Stew. You know what? Ron and I decided a long time ago to live openly, just as we are. Mind you back in 1973 that was tricky at times, especially with our jobs and the prejudice that was everywhere. Like yourself and so many others, we took a deep breath and forged ahead! You know who lead the way for us? .....all the brave African American and African Canadian people.

  3. Attitudes are rapidly changing - I know mine has when I think of what I was taught (indoctrinated actually) growing up and what I now believe.

    1. Jane, this is good to hear and I know a lot of people are feeling less threatened for various reasons as this issue comes to the forefront.

    1. Martha, you are welcome. I guess 'change' does take a very long time, something that has taken me a long time to accept. But we are 'getting there'.

  6. What a powerful video that was Jim, - WOW. I was honestly shocked to the core by some of the twats on there, especially in the olden days.

Surely the answer is soooo simple - when people share love, they are always right. End of.

Why the bloody hell do people have a problem with that? I have a theory that they are totally insecure in themselves, so it is manifested as aggression. Sad people.

Jeez, look at me ranting ..... you've properly got me at it Jim-ski!! How's new year going? x

    1. Yes, I found it powerful as well when I first saw it. I hope the documentary gets a lot of publicity.
That's what's so frustrating about any type of prejudice....the answer IS so simple! Your theory is 100% correct.
Rant away my dear! Now I know who to contact to spread 'the word'!! lol
We are doing great in 2012!
