A Farewell To A Friend

An old friend of ours died yesterday.
His name was David Fry.
He grew up in the same town as Ron
and I met him in 1973 when I met Ron.
They were childhood friends.

As happens in life, we went our separate ways
but always heard from each other at Christmas.

David was a gentle, intelligent, and compassionate human being.

He will be missed by many.

Rest in Peace, David.

  4. RIP, David! I'm sorry that you and Ron have lost a special friend. I thought there was a Stephen Fry in my class when I was in Wolfville in grade eight, but perhaps my memory is failing. Maybe it was David, or maybe Stephen Fry was his brother. It really hits home when a peer dies! Hugs to you both!

    1. btw, I wanted to remark on a couple of your recent posts. Glad to know that you aren't moving to Sweden! I read about Justin Trudeau's win on Neko Random (Adam)'s blog ~ bring the midnight oil and trying to catch up on blogging. what else is new, Haha! I was going to say that the last bench I remember sitting on was with you and Ron and Sophie sharing scrumptious pizza in Hydrastone Park ~ and then I remember collapsing on one when I was chasing spindle whorls in Victoria. Love, love the Rankin Family ~ still feel sad when I remember John Rankin's death driving off a cliff in Cheticamp over a decade ago. And always, I love your beautiful photos, like those of the parasailers!
      Have a good one.

    2. Thanks so much, Louise! You may be thinking of the infamous American author, Stephen fry who was grilled by Oprah?
David was a year behind you guys in Wolfville.
You have got to be my most diligent follower!! Thanks so much, as I look forward to your input.

    1. Thanks, Mitch. As I said we didn't see much of each other over the years but it brought back the times we did when we were 'kids'.
