Apart from sitting on the bench in the garden occasionally, the last time I sat anywhere in the great outdoors was probably about a month ago on Nomansland Common, in Hertfordshire (You could look it up if you have nothing better to do!) where I walk the dogs. It is more of a" rustic" bench….just 2 logs with a plank across, but the view from the top part of the common is fabulous across the trees towards Wheathampsted. Very grey here at the moment 8.30am. Dog walk will be a dull event! I wish I could take my walk on your beach!
Those are my favourite types of benches, Frances. That is what we try to incorporate in our garden....benches made of stone and wood that fit into its surroundings.Sounds like a great location....Nomansland Common. Love the name!!
The last time I sat on a bench was down the beach, similar to this one. I love going down there and sitting and reflecting, or just to take in the view and relax. Whilst my dog is off running about being loopy, I can sit and take it all in!
Benches are sorely misunderstood, Hayley-Eszti! I am glad that you and I take advantage of them....to stop and pause for a few seconds.
Good point! It's time to slow down and unplug!
Great to meet you, Sonia. Thanks for stopping by.We ought to taught to slow down as children...so that it would be 'second nature' by the time we are adults.
Benches draw me, and I often park myself for awhile to visit the scene.
Me too, Barb. They are there for a reason and situated in just the right spot for us to enjoy.
I will gladly sit on a bench when my leg is hurting me and I need to rest it. Of course, there's never a bench around THEN! lol
See, that's another reason benches are so cool! They have multi-purposes for us all.I hope the Liberals will now put in more benches all over our fair country!!
I don't remember but I'm sure it wasn't too long ago. Since we love being outdoors, there's always a bench somewhere in our outings.
Sometimes, Martha, it's hard to resist a bench. They are put there for a reason....and only one way to find that reason out, is to sit for bit.
Last Sunday, I sat on a log bench in our local Wildlife Sanctuary and watched a a family talking to an eagle. I love watching family interactions.
Hey, I really like your comments and appreciate the time you took to do so.
