Eclectic Tastes

We got an email from our friends in New Brunswick last week with
a link to this band. Their daughter, 15 year old Victoria, had it on her ipod
and wanted to share this tune.

I was immediately taken back to my hippie years! Loved it!
Why can't we go back in time just for a short time? lol

Hope you enjoy this catchy and light-hearted tune.

  1. Love the tune, and your new header photo is the best. Will you be safe from "Sandy" I fear for so many as I read of all the evacuations, precautions, and how far inland it might come, with up to 2' of snow !!! Take care, Greetings from Jean.( no blog today but all OK here, apart from aching muscles !! )

    1. So far as of today we in the Maritimes will get a lot of rain and wind. But since we are so close to the shore, we may have some basement flooding when the tide is high and the moon is full! Hope not!

  2. I LOVE this tune. I think it has been in the charts in the UK because they have been playing it on the radio quite a bit. Perfect taste as ever!

  4. I love, love, love this song! I listen to it over and over and over again while I'm working on my computer. I discovered it through my 15-year-old daughter who plays it regularly, and I'm now addicted to it! And although I'm a 70s classic rock kind of gal, I'll admit that sometimes these young teens do introduce us to some decent songs in their time...LOL...

  8. You're right -- hippies live! Charming song.

And I've been meaning to say that I like your silhouette header photo of Ron and Sophie. Ron's hair blown up in the wind makes him look like Tintin!

  10. Fun!
I hope you don't have flooding, but it will be interesting to see what washes ashore, and any shoreline changes.
We have warmed up again. Our morning temps were in the teens, but it's much better now.

    1. We probably won't have any flooding due to how far Sandy is from here but the ocean has a mind of it's own.....oh yes, the shoreline will change with this.
So winter has settled in quite yet....enjoy the spring-like temps!!

  11. Hello Jim,

I, too, really like that header. It is contemplative in an at-peace-with-the-world sort of way, Sophie probably checking for edibles (if she's anything like Black Jack) and Ron perhaps thinking about the vastness of the ocean, admiring the light on it, or otherwise appreciating that the two of you live so close to nature. That said, you are in my thoughts today. When I taught in Bridgewater I lived in Hubbards, and rented a house by the ocean at Shatford Lobster Pound. I learned to respect and appreciate the ocean's power as well as its beauty. All to say, I hope you and Ron and your loved ones are safe today.

As for the video, I loved it. My hippie days were in Montreal and I remember them as joyful ones. Something about whistling that just starts this song off with a little burst of fun, and I love the title. Not to be too mushy, but that's how I think of "my" Bill :)
