Contemplative Monday

The quote today by Pema Chodron (click) comes from her
'Heart Advice, Weekly Quotes From Pema Chodron'.

OPENNESS IS LIKE THE WIND

"Basic wakefulness, natural openness, is always available.

This openness is not something that needs to be manufactured.

When we pause, we touch the energy of the moment,
when we slow down and allow a gap,

self-existing openness comes to us.

It does not require a particular effort.

It is available anytime.

As Chogyam Trungpa (click) once remarked,

"Openness is like the wind.
If you open your doors and windows, it is bound to come in".'

  1. Good morning, Jim. As usual I read your Monday offering and study it. My brain is dull and my skull is thick. I am really caught up in the pictures of the day - awesome!

  6. Thanks Martha. We have just had a very memorable Thanksgiving with Ron's family.....brother and sister-in-law Susan.
That is a good quote isn't it. I try to open up my doors and windows every day.

  7. How very true indeed. "Openness is not something that needs to be manufactured.
self-existing openness comes to us." These posts are never directly related to my goings on, but you ALWAYS seem to hit my emotional nail on the head! haha

    1. Hey Mick! You and your friends are 'naturals' with openness and you let that openness come out freely at will. Some people have a hard time with doing this and get all 'jammed up'.
You know, maybe acting is the key that will allow us all to be more open and fearless. Hm-m-m.
