Keep That Head Up

Happened upon some very strange symbols in the sand the other day.

We couldn't decipher what they were 'saying'.

They were everywhere and there was no apparent 'system to the madness' to follow.
Until we looked to our right.......

Mallard sign language?

  8. I knew what they were right away (but it's not really fair because we've had a mallard on the farm for many years.)

  9. We get them in our pond, they're beautiful and noisy too! But my very favorite visitor who comes and eats what fish we have (I'm really not sure what we have) here on the property is a great blue hereon, very majestic as it glides in for a landing.

    1. Oh Jen! A Great Blue Heron! You must try to get a photo....no pressure though! Must cost a lot to keep the pond stocked when he/she is around.
