Thinking Out Loud

You know what? I think thinking can sometimes be over-rated.

Especially in the summer.

When all you need is to turn around and notice the beauty in your world.

In can come in the shape of children, blossoms, water, and a walk in the park.

So give your brain a rest and just focus/stare

at something or somebody you love.

Dogwood tree is in full bloom.

And of course be discreet!

  2. Oh, I would so love to give my brain a rest. Usually, I just wish it had a toggle switch. Happy birthday (belatedly)!

  3. Beautiful photos, Jim. And you are right...we need to give our brain a rest, especially in the summer. I have no problem with that this time of year when my garden keeps me busy, and I'm happily snapping photos, and there are so many places to hike and walk and enjoy...

  5. I agree! Thinking is overrated! We need to just admire what is right in front of us, no thinking required. :)

  12. Stopping by from M.'s to wish you a Happy Birthday! Today is my Mom's 80th B-Day too... and I hear you're a total Nature Freak & Hippie like myself so we already have some things in common! *Winks* Being in Nature always renews my Spirit and I don't have to Think... which is why I enjoy it so much and stand in Awe of all of Creation. As the old saying goes: When I works, I works hard, when I sits, I sits loose, and when I Thinks, I falls asleep! {That is most definitely describing me! LOL}

    Happy Birthday coming at you from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian

  14. Hi Jim!! To start, I hope you had a wonderful birthday!! I have a feeling with Ron, Sophie and all your friends you did!

    Your post reminds me of the quote, 'don't think too much because you'll create problems that aren't there.' This is what happens to me all the time--I just need to get my mind off of things (like a 4 day power outage in record heat) and focus on the good and positive things--But for me, it's not always easy.

    I hope your day has been an enjoyable one!!

      I heard you lost 'power'....that was a PAIN I am sure! Good that things are back and working. Now, stop thinking and veg out!

  16. I love your photos, and how you find deep messages in simple and beautiful images. I see the same things in nature's images but I don't express it as well as you do.

    BTW, there's a rumor sweeping Colorado that I missed your Birthday. Happy Birthday to you!!!!! I hope that you had a wonderful day.
