An Update On Dad On Father's Day

It has been somewhat of a roller-coaster ride for my family this past week.

As of yesterday, it appears that my father has 'turned a corner' for the better.

He will in all likelihood not return completely to where he was before his 'spell'.

It is hoped that this week will define for us what will be needed for his return home by the end of the week.

  3. The mere fact that his return "home" is even considered is great news indeed, even if it requires more assistance. Changes for people that age are not a welcomed option, if it can be avoided, at all... Nice to hear this news. Must be a relief for everyone involved!! Good luck!!

    1. Thanks! Once he started to rebound, with the help of some meds, he hasn't stopped. Now for a few days of physio to get him standing and balancing again, we expect him to be home by week's end. We are ready for his return.

  5. With the approach of Father's day and without having had the time to catch up on all my favorite bloggers, I found myself thinking and wondering about your father.
My thoughts have been with you all weekend and will continue. I hope you can find the strength to do everything that is required. He's a lucky man to have such good "kids" to look after him.
Be sure too, to take care of yourself as well. He's going to need you at your best.

    1. Thanks John. This was the most serious of the last four 'emergencies' in the past year. They get a little worse each time. The only difference this time was that he didn't rebound in a few hours like he had. It took four days for him to begin to feel 'himself'. At his age we expect something....we just never know what.

  17. to jim, ron, all of your family, and sophie........... i have been so worried for you about your papa, kept him in my prayers and hoped for your sakes that he would recover. just know that even if i am behind in my blogging, i still come here for serenity and good vibes because thats what i get from your blog. theres been so much drama in my life that i have decided to make changes in my blog as well as my life, and you boys are responsible for a little of that. i wished we lived closer, im sure we'd be great friends/tea tottlers. just like a stone sends out ripples in a pond, your blog does the same... affecting and touching many things or people, for the better.
