Eclectic Tastes

When I heard this the other day on a TV commercial no less,
a flood of memories came back to me.
saw this movie, Paint Your Wagon, in 1969
and it obviously stayed with me.
I find this song haunting...in a good warm way.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

  1. I enjoyed this so much, reminds me of Oklahoma or any of the musicals of that day!

  2. When I first heard the music on that charming commercial, I thought the gravelly voice belonged to Leonard Cohen. But My Rare One (who really knows her westerns) said no, it was Lee Marvin in "Paint Your Wagon." Plus, doesn't the skinny young guy in the commercial look like Q in the new Bond movies? I know it's not the same guy, but still.

  3. I've never seen the film, but Lee Marvin was one of my favorite movie stars. Safe to say I had a crush on him! Thank you for this.

  5. I didn't love that movie when I first saw. Really enjoyed it years later.

    1. I really think the music stayed with me a lot longer than the movie itself.

  6. This is bizarre. I just wrote today's post that referenced "Paint Your Wagon." I hadn't seen yours yet. I'm starting to feel tingly all over...
