River Walk

I was walking Sophie along the river this morning
and noticed this Cormorant drying out its wings on the sand bar.

It was so quiet there and I wondered what it might be like being that Cormorant
........ not being bombarded by all the world events recently.
Just doing what Cormorants have been doing for millennia .

  1. Ignorance is bliss, they say, Jim! I've been isolated at times from the world and its news, and I've never missed it. Right now I'm really struggling with the impact of climate change and the mess we will leave for younger generations. I'm all over beautiful Victoria, and I keep thinking, "This will be under water. And this will be under water." I did two behind-the-scene tours at the Royal BC Museum earlier this week. One of the docents said that a top priority for them is to get their archives well above ground; they are currently at and below sea level. Ironically, I was sitting in the BC Parliament Building's Legislator's Dining Room having breakfast two mornings ago; and it's downstairs below ground and not far from the ocean. Why don't our politicians get it????? Okay, I'll stop! I'll channel that oblivious cormorant and soak up some sun!
