Eclectic Tastes

Do I ever remember this tune from 1962!
Wish I knew then what I know now!
Hey, maybe not, considering that it was 1962.
Still had lots of fun.

Have a wonderful Sunday all!!

  1. Oh, yes, I remember, haha, that's the year I got married the first time. It would play on the radio of his brand new Studebaker Lark. Haha.
    The not so good times...

  2. Oh, how I loved this song and the Shirelles. I saw them in concert in Brockport, NY in the early '70s and again a few years later somewhere on Long Island, New York. "Oldie's" concerts more than 40 years ago. Wonder what they call them now! This song will play in my head for the rest of the day!

  3. I so loved this song, Jim! I used to listen to it on my blue transistor radio that was my constant companion throughout my teenaged years. Dad bought the radio in the north and gave it to me when I was eleven. So many great songs came out of that radio! Thanks for the wonderful memory. It turned out my first husband was a "soldier boy" ~ 101st Airborne/Screaming Eagle. Unfortunately he was paralyzed in an accident just as he was shipping out to Vietnam. I do love this song because it always reminds me of the amazing volunteer forces we have, and of the heavy burden they bear in service for out country.

  4. Those lyrics sure wouldn't pass muster these days.

  5. I always look forward to your eclectic tasts blog posts! Loving this song!

  6. Yep, I remember! Now you know poor David will be hearing me warble this for a week!

  7. I was a teenager back then but I do remember the song .. and liked it ;o)

    Happy Sunday, Jim ...

  8. Like Terry above, I will be driving my Richard crazy singing this all week! So I thank you for that! HA!
