Saturday Morning post

A very good week for weather here in Nova Scotia......cool nights and warm days.

Terry Fox is a 'hero' here in Canada. He attempted to run across Canada in 1980 after
having one of his legs amputated due to cancer.

He didn't quite reach his goal after running for 5373 km
(he died a year after he had to stop the run)
but he certainly left his mark and has raised millions for cancer research.

Hibiscus blossom from our 'seasonal' plant.

Surfboard against fence.

One foggy day down at the boardwalk.

Cyclist at Point Pleasant Park in Halifax.

This gull kept a very close watch on Sophie who was swimming nearby.

This Golden Retriever just wanted to sit and cool off.

It's all downhill from here....

That same very foggy day......do you think I may long for a truck?

Parasurfer zipping back and forth.

Sophie was being SO good during her doggie bakery visit this week.
And it paid off big time for her!!

Yellow sailboat.

Refreshing trickle.

    1. Thanks Debra. When I saw this fellow coming along the main shore road I ran ahead to an opening and waited for him to pass with the mouth of the harbour in the background. I had a feeling that this could 'work' after a tad of editing.

  3. How cool to have a doggie bakery. Lovely other shots too Jim... and you inspire me with your posterizing. That is so fun isn't it

    1. It IS Jeanne! I am mixing it up a bit now too....with posterizing and neonizing...a mix of the two. I like the ethereal effect it may produce.

  4. Great assortment of photos, Jim. I especially love the parasurfer! Sophie looks like she's forcing herself to be good; doing a great job of it, too. Terry Fox is definitely a hero, and a great inspiration to us all. It is terribly sad how young he died.

yes Terry Fox was an amazing human being and we were very fortunate to have lived along with him on his journey.

    1. This was close to what I was hoping for, Pat, when I took that photo the other day.I like it when that happens! You get the 'structure' you want from the 'original' shot and you build it up, so to speak.

    1. Thanks Barb. I had a little trouble at first getting a focused shot of the sailboat....it kept focusing on the tree limbs.
The green leaf I wanted to be the main focal point.

    1. I liked that grass in fog one too Louise. It always amazes me what a little editing will do to keep the image recognizable yet 'pop' too.
