I'll Takes What I Gets

On the weekend we were at the beach with Sophie. It was an 'above-zero' day and there were more people there than we had seen since the fall. This was surely a sign of an improvement in the weather.

Along the beach there was also evidence of a change of seasons taking place. Maybe 'spring' is really not too far away.

A Starfish is a sure sign that warmer weather is ahead.

Definitely a sign of 'spring' when I saw this little Jellyfish........looks like a glass marble.

And another Starfish.....this one was very tiny......no more than an inch across.

May not look like much, but I'll take what I get..........every little thing counts when you are looking forward to warmer weather.

  5. I love the pictures you take on the beach. We're looking forward to warmer weather as well... there are not too many signs for us at the moment, but the calendar says it's just around the corner.

  6. Hope you warm up soon. Zephyr and I enjoyed your pictures this morning. He wants to look up your marble jellyfish. My day will be spent on Google I think.

You should be here at my place. It sounds like a natural aviary with lots of birds passing through on their way North. This morning we found a couple chickadees, green jays, northern cardinals, swallows, doves and oodles of pigeons. So maybe they are bringing spring up that way with them. LOL one can only hope eh?

    Take care,
    Mal

  7. Did you put the fish back into the water, Jim? I love the little starfish! Every time I think Spring is coming, it(Winter) throws a curve ball! We had a little sun yesterday, but this has been the gloomiest time!

  8. I think these are great signs of spring. Here in Wisconsin I was thrilled to see a bit of green moss, still stuck to the trees from last year. Hey, I'm happy with any sign too!

  11. It must be great to be anticipating a change for the better in the climate. Unfortunately, for us, it means the approach of Autumn, frosts and cold nights - tho the trees change colour and look marvelous!

  17. The jelly fish is wicked cool :)
That being said... Spring?? I won't trust it has arrived until May. Even my fellow native New Englanders are thinking that the first day of spring is a magical date. They should know better LOL

  18. It just occured to be that "above zero" degrees in Canada is at lest 32 degrees in the U.S.
I was thinking "if it's [above zero], it still must be frigid".

  19. It's amazing the difference between saltwater and freshwater creatures. Saltwater creatures are much more vibrant. Love the colors of the star fish.
