A Quiet Friday

Ron took these photos yesterday at the beach.

As I sit here listening to Chris Botti on his December CD, the snow is gently falling.....our first here along the coast.

Funny how something so simple as falling snow can set the mood for the day. The three of us, Ron, Sophie and myself just sat there looking out the windows as it floated out of the sky onto the shrubs and trees below. Everything seemed quiet as if the snow was mesmerizing us.

Hopefully enough will stay around so I can get a few pictures later today.

  1. Good Morning, Jim!
It is nice to just sit and watch the snow fall, especially if you don't have to drive anywhere. It is quite mesmerizing, I will admit, but I pretty much hate snow once it lands and stays. :-)

  2. Oh, I'm glad that you're finally getting snow. Your pictures of the waves are calling me to the lake. I think I'll try and get down there later today, to see what it looks like in the first rush of Winter.

  5. Hello Jim! Those photo's of Rons are absolutely top notch. Really beautiful.

We too had our first smattering of snow today and I bloody love it. It was all white, crispy and Christmassy. And I couldn't agree more about looking out at it and being mesmerised. Fab fab fab!

  6. Hey Jim,
The photos are so gorgeous; my kind of scenery, but hey, doesn't 'ocean' and 'snow' seem to you like an oxymoron?

  7. I miss the ocean. We will try to get a few days down the coast this year.

  8. We had a dusting of snow too. September to December has been the driest on record. We need a bit more snow, but it makes it harder to taking care of the horses.

  10. Tracy (without an 'e'), I see what you mean. We don't really have snow that stays around till Jan/Feb. Living near the ocean keeps the temp a couple of degrees warmer than the rest of the province. So today's white stuff will probably not be around tomorrow afternoon.
