Wow, Jim! It is so easy to fall behind with blog reading as we go about our lives. Mustn't let that happen with yours and Ron's because they each add jolts of pleasure that linger long after the reading. I am responding to three posts in one here. First, the one about your father in the song-writing class. That one has stayed with me for days now. Just love that he is being creative and feeling excited about life. I can picture him gathering his "homework" and looking forward to sharing it with the others. Loved the group lyrics and the original song as well and most especially, your appreciation for the moment. Then, this previous post. Love that you made time to meet up with good friends. And, yes, though i'm not big on posting photos of myself either, I realize as i looked at yours, that it completes an image in our minds as we learn about the music you like, the words you have written, and the emotions you have shared, if we can also "look into your eyes" for a moment. So much more I want to say, but must leave some time for Ron as well :) Just quickly: my parents worked in our small Quebec town post office for years and the Titanic stamp images were wonderful. Finally, this post! GREAT song!
You are so kind Carol. Thank you for the kind words.I know how easy it is to fall behind with all of this.....one blog at a time. That was an unforgetable afternoon with my father....it was so good to see him focused on something very positive and creative.I guess I suffer from vanity and the fact that I am not 25 any longer and find it difficult to accept the aging process. In my head I sometimes fell 25 as a lot of the basics hasn't changed. Then I see myself and say oh yeah 40 years has gone by and where did it go!! I am getting better at it though.Maybe I could post a photo a week of myself to make myself accept basic facts of life! lolYour parents worked in a post office.....it was always my 'dream job' to be a mailman, outdoors all the time, you show up, get the mail, deliver it and go home! Love it! Ron worked in a small town post office when I met him back in 1973.Glad you liked this song too. have a great week Carol.
A good one!
