A Photographer

The photo below was taken by a Nova Scotian photographer named W.R. Macaskill.
He was one of Nova Scotia's best known photographers and famous for his
seascapes and images of sailing vessels.

I have a number of his framed works and this is my favourite one.
It shows a fisherman in his nor'easter  looking out to sea.
It is called 'Scanning the Weather'.

Fishing has always played a big role in the economy of Nova Scotia,
that was one of the reasons the Europeans came in the first place.

  3. Lovely photo, Jim! I, of course, know of W.R. Macaskill. But YOUR work is every bit as good ~ IMAO, you should frame a few photos of yours to sell in your shop! Just saying! Have a good one!

    1. Well he certainly was an inspiration to me over the years, Louise. Considering he did most of his work in the 1930-40's, he did an incredible job with what he had to work with..
We kind of are selling our photos with the greeting cards.

    2. True ~ but couldn't you print an enlarged photo, frame it, up the price, and sell it? You have some spectacular photos in your library. I'd say two or three as a market testing experiment might be worth the risk. By the way, the packets of photos arrived last night. They are awesome! Thanks to you and Ron getting them off to me. Much appreciated by me! Have a great weekend!
