The Calm Before The Storm

The ocean has been calm of late as this photo indicates from two days ago.
This will change soon enough as we along the coasts of Nova Scotia
and Newfoundland are expecting the after-effects
of Hurricane Gonzalo this weekend.

Along the Eastern Shore we are to expect sea swells
and nothing too crazy, as the Hurricane's track is far off the coast.

This could make for a few great photos on Sunday while I am at work
at the shop high up on MacDonald Hill.

  1. You know your home, you know your ocean, but I'm uneasy, I don't know why, can you close shop, and you, Ron and Sophie go visit someone far away?
I know the photos would be sensational, and part of me can't wait to see it, but for some reason, part of me is worried...be safe ok?

    1. I hope so Martha! the ocean may be pretty wild looking....should bring a lot of 'viewers' to the beach, usually does.
Hope you get out on your bikes this weekend!

    1. Just heard that it will only give us high seas, Debra. We can live with that for the most part.

    1. If it does John, it will have tired itself out over the Atlantic, I am sure.

  9. Just spectacular, Jim! Happy photo on Sunday! It does help to have a high perch to get multi-wave shots. Terry was saying this a.m. that NF will get the worst of it. Stay safe on your high windy spot!

  10. Stay safe, Jim. Can't keep up with comments lately but you and Ron and Sophie are always in my thoughts. Great photography, as always! That comment about those who work 40-hour weeks has been on my mind for years. So very true. Will try to return soon.
