Thinking Out Loud

Ever wonder if you'll ever see the day when the whole world will be at peace?

Do you think that the violence in our communities will continue as long as humans are around?

Will there always be greed in the world and people who will do anything to get what they want?

What is this whole thing called 'power' that a lot of us feel we need to survive?

What do you do to 'get through your day' when all these things are so pervasively around us?

    Your Friend, m.

  2. Beautiful photos! Humans can be a pestilential bunch.

  3. Thanks Mark!
What I do, is what I have done since day 1 which you'll see here taking care of my little part of the world.

  4. I get alone with God and He reminds me that this 'house' is not my 'home' and that the peace that you talk about, Jim, will be forever in the next life.

  5. mmmm I don't know what to say really, I put on some music and paint, might be putting my head in the sand a bit but sometimes it's self preservation!

  6. I try to think positive thoughts about my luck in life with good health and a family who love me. If that doesn't work, then red wine usually does :)

  7. Fabulous shots!

I don't have any easy answers because I've been wondering where we have gone wrong in the world recently too.

  8. I always find that unconditional love that comes from my dog to be soothing to the soul.
He reminds me that when it's all said and done, after all the wars, all the global warming, and after we're long gone, the world will go on. People won't go on, but the world will.

Don't fight the system. Don't internalize other's problems and enjoy whatever you've been given.

He teaches me to run, wrestle and smell everything!

  9. Bobbie and I share the same feelings...

  10. I do my best to try to tune all the violence out, but some days, it isn't possible. Doubtful we will see peace until our day is over.

  11. I have to agree with Sharon. I also am thankful that I live in a place where I don't have to see anyone and can remove myself from the world to regenerate.

  12. I'm pessimistic about the human beast ever changing, unless we miraculously undergo some chemical change in our brain chemistry. I wish I was a believer, I try sometimes, but it's just not in me. It seems to bring those who do believe so much peace and joy, truly something to be grateful for.

I try to counteract that violence by volunteering, speaking reasonably to others, even when I disagree with their viewpoint and keeping a smile on my face and interest in others in my heart. When that doesn't work (too many times,) I retreat to my old house, my cats, and my window.

  13. it is human nature to be violent, whether it comes for personal strife or one society pitting itself against another, for territory, for beliefs, whatever...

you can only affect those close to you by your positive attitude but there's a butterfly effect to that. synchronicity would allow peace the opportunity to prevail, but for how long?...

we are neither evil or angels. we are human, which is not always humane... we are still far away from enlightenment.

  14. time with my loved camera....looking for beauty in unexpected places....

  15. Greed, violence and evil will always exist within humans.
I choose to surround myself with good energy and avoid those places and people who do not have that.

  16. I really don't think there will ever be peace in the human race, only peace within our individual selves.

  17. it's dogs....they hold the answers to all of mankinds misery...really.

  18. I like the color, and I was wondering what it was until I got to the bottow of the set.
    Good shot !!!
