Choosing the correct path for oneself is not always an easy task.
A country choosing the correct path through an election is
even a bigger task.
There was a winner and a loser on Tuesday night in the
US presidential election.
It is no secret where my feelings are as to the outcome.
It is my hope that both 'parties' will now join together where
possible (now that would be a new path for both!)
and get down to business for the welfare of all.
I was so relieved at the outcome. A Romney Administration/Discrimination would have been like taking steps backward. But like you say they need to work together. The problem is they block everything in Congress for the sake of being opposing, not for the good of Americans. I would like to see a shift towards the greater good for both parties.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more Chania....both parties really have to pull together and deal honestly and unselfishly with the economy, healthcare and foreign policy. Because what happens in the US directly effects us here in Canada....not to mention the entire world.
DeleteHear, hear. Jim! They need to be statesmen, not mere politicians.
ReplyDeleteThat's it exactly Debra. Thanks.
DeleteAmen
ReplyDeleteDitto
DeleteHear, hear! Winning an election is just the beginning. And lovely autumn shots.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping, as many others are as well, that Obama's experience over the past 4 years will help the whole recovery move forward.
DeleteBeautiful fall colors in these shots, Jim!
ReplyDeletePat, thank you.
DeleteNicely put Jim! These pictures are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bobbi.
DeleteI live in a very red neighborhood, and red signs were everywhere. However, my neighbor across the street is true blue. Throughout the run up to the election, he put out a series of handmade posters in support of Obama. Very early on election day, he put out a new sign. I couldn't wait to see what it would be. I'm thinking a big "Vote Obama" or some such. Instead I read, "UNITY!" People had barely begun voting - unless they were early voters like me - and he put this message out. He's right. Both red and blue need to come together and solve the problems facing America. Like it or not, what America does impacts billions around the world. Have a :) day, Jim.
ReplyDeleteA very insightful neighbour you have Louise! Yes, it is time for your country and mine to really deal with the social inequities that exist....the gap is getting bigger.
DeleteSuch good news, I hope they can unite to build for the better good. Well put.
ReplyDeleteIvan
I agree Ivan. Obama was the better person this time to move the US forward. Now the Republicans will really have to find a leader that will catch the attention of all Americans, not just a few. If they do, then the 2016 will be a very exciting race.
DeleteI was so happy that the President won the election, but you're right, now is the time to come together and make things better.
ReplyDeleteThose portraits of Sophie on your previous post are beautiful!
Thank you so much for checking in on me. It lifted my spirits.
Amen to that!
ReplyDelete"From your mouth to God's ears", the atheist said...
ReplyDeleteIt would be surprising if they finally learned to work together,
as they prefer to butt heads together instead of thinking of the people,
and what harm their actions can be causing. I trust politicians possibly
as far as I can throw them, and given my bad back, it ain't far at all...
It is high time for them all to reflect on their position and put the people first, not their own agenda/interests. Que sera, sera!!
:)~

If only!.....
DeleteI think for most of those concerned it is about greed for money and power. But I do hope it finally hits them the real reason they are there.
Most likely...
DeleteCan we appeal to their sense of decency,
or was that back ordered when they were born?
Unless they had some and sold it on eBay for some cash...
I can't help feeling a bit sarcastic here, sorry!!
:/~

It is really difficult to trust politicians because they get themselves so far removed from us 'common folk'...I guess.
DeleteWe can all dream that they'll start working together.
ReplyDeleteBut for now, we have a black man in the whitehouse with nothing to lose!
Maybe if we did all start dreaming the energy produced will hit them like a bolt and wake them all up!
DeleteSadly, I don't expect those parties to work together any time soon. But, I'm still grateful for the outcome of the major election.
ReplyDeleteIt will probably take some catastrophic event to cause them to cooperate for the common good of all. Have a great weekend Mitch!
