Contemplative Monday

DON'T COVER THE WORLD WITH LEATHER

"Ours problems can't be solved by eliminating each and every outer cause.

Nevertheless, people everywhere take this approach:

'It's the world's fault; it's too rough, too sharp, too alien.

If I could get rid of these outer woes, I'd be happy.'

Shantideva says: If you want to protect your feet, wear shoes;

and if you want to protect yourself  from the world's provocations, tame your mind.

The antidote to misery is to stay present."

This quote was taken from Pema Chodron's Heart Advice: Weekly Quotes From Pema Chodron.

Photos in this post were taken last week at the beach as a storm was looming in the west. It looks like a tornado .......... we don't get those around here. It was however a 'snow squall' that hit the city about 35 km from here.

Oh yes, check out the 'GIVEAWAY' I am having at the top left just below the 'header'!

    1. Yes they are ominous. We weren't quite sure at first in which direction this storm was heading. It headed south west away from us!
