Contemplative Monday

" Because it is withered, or bent and gnarled, all at once a plum tree blossoms: one, two, three, four, five. Isn't it the same for us? Isn't it true that through this same kind of condition we flower?".......Jakusho Kwong

Jakusho Kwong is the founder and abbot of the Sonoma Mountain Zen Center outside Santa Rosa, California. The above quote was taken from his new book,' No Beginning, No End '.

  1. Hmmm.....

    (I'm contemplating too)

  2. Very well said. Often I have said something similar. Just never so elequently. I can think back to many times in my own life that the very best came out of the worst of conditions.

  3. what is the image ? It's beautiful.

  4. what a beautiful thought. Thanks for sharing..

  5. Penny, the image is from a Victorian glass vase I have. Couldn't resist it when I saw it years back.
