His voice and the lyrics, perfect for a Sunday evening down here. Are you watching the Wimbledon Men's Final??? I am.!!!
We are taping it, Jean.
Sadly, I don't think Lennon's vision of a better world is possible in the near future. I won't say it's impossible, but I think we have a lot of evolving as a species before we can reach a state such as Lennon wrote and sang about. I remember studying history and political science in high school and university, and one thing that always stuck with me is that anarchy follows a leadership vacuum. Have we ever seen this playing out over the past couple of years in the Middle East. With all the horrors that have happened in these past few weeks, from Orlando to Dallas and places the world over, it's hard not to become paralyzed with despair. We have to gird ourselves with all the love and goodness around us in the people we love and care about and with the inspiration of the goodness and kindness of countless unknown people everywhere. Without that, it's hard to move forward with courage and hope. But I do believe that good will prevail, it's just damn elusive right now. And it hurts to think that such a voice for peace and reason was gunned down in New York. I think Lennon would be the first to say keep moving forward with courage. Like Frodo climbing Mount Doom, but he wouldn't have made it without Sam. I gird myself with, among others, you, Ron, and Sophie. Yes, Ms SD too, there is great compassion and goodness in our animal friends who have been treated well. I'm so glad I reconnected with Ron and found you; you have no idea how much hope and courage you give me! Have a good one!
Imagine!I've been trying today to not consider the state of the world... just for this one day. It's not working.
John Lennon had it right and he was way ahead of his time. The world became a sadder place when he died. We can learn from this song. A peaceful and joyous Sunday to you, Ron and Sophie!
Yes, the perfect balm for the absolutely horrible past few days.
Hey, I really like your comments and appreciate the time you took to do so.
