Eclectic Tastes

This weekend we, in Canada, are celebrating
 our country's 150th birthday as a nation.
I love my country and can't imagine living anywhere else.

I would be remiss not to mention the fact that the Indigenous people
have lived here in what we call Canada much longer than we have.
I believe it is around 12,000 years.
And they deserve the recognition for what they have brought
and are bringing 'to this table' we call Canada.

Here is Buffy Sainte-Marie (click here to learn more
about this remarkable woman)

  1. I feel the same way, Jim. This is an amazing country. There is still so much to do but I feel that we are headed in the right direction.

  2. Oh, how I love and respect Buffy Sainte-Marie. I was a camp counselor in 1969 and we took "the kids" (I was only 15 at the time myself!!!) to NBC Studios. They let us into the taping of the Johnny Carson Show and we got to see her perform The Circle Game.

  3. What a wonderful choice today Jim she puts so much emotion in to this song that I cried, I have so much respect for her and our indigenous people, history is cruel but it's time to do more than just talk.

    1. Happy you liked this, Margo. I find I get quite emotional on most of what she sings.
I agree. Time to put this part of history to a resolved rest.
