Saturday Morning Post

'All over the map' type of week....

Glanced up and out the window at shop......

A lot of fog this month so far sticking along the coast.
Usually it burns off by noon but the cooler temperatures keep it around.

One BIG mushroom (probably a deadly one)
sitting atop a nursing log in the park.

Moored boats in the Northwest Arm in Halifax.

Had lunch yesterday with two of my sisters, Paula (left) and Jo-Ann,
and of course my buddy, Ron (it just happened to be our 44th
anniversary as well).

From the Dartmouth side of the harbour looking
over to Halifax one evening this week.

George's Island is in the middle of Halifax Harbour.
You can barely see its lighthouse through the fog.

Can't imagine summers without daisies.

Preening gull......

The odd, but beautiful, couple along the trail.....

Green....and more green.

These three 'sunfish sailboats' were being towed out
to the mouth of the harbour due to lack of wind.

The much-maligned slug (gastropod mollusc) on the trail the other day....

A dozen or so young women arrived at the surf shop (downstairs from my shop)
for surfing lessons the other day.

Now in tamer waters at Lake Banook in Dartmouth
these rowers were getting into a rhythm for an evening row.

  1. Your Anniversary... Wow, Many wonderful Good Wishes to you both. Green is so green, family is so loving, and everything else just gorgeous. Is it warm up your way? Freezing down here, about 3C at 8 p.m. I need a good dose of Northern Warmth!!!

    1. Thank you,Jean. It has been humid here....which is early for Nova Scotia. We don't particularly like humidity as it makes us feel like the 'slug' in these photos!
It was 10C this morning and rising to high 20's this afternoon with a higher humidex reading! Come on 'fall'!!

  2. happy anniversary! 44 years! does ron have a new haircut?

    1. Thanks, Joyce! Yes, Ron has his 'summer military cut' going on!......cooler in the summer.
I can't always get into your blog posts. The problem is from this end. I will get to the problem if I can figure out why it is just yours that won't open.

  3. All exceptional photos. And happy 44th! How old was Ron then... Two?!? Must be all that clean living.

    1. Actually you are close, Mitch! At least you got the two correct!! He was 23 when we met. He figures his youthfulness comes from his mother's genes who never looked her age up to her 70's.
Yeah, must be the clean living as well!!

  4. Happy anniversary Jim. May you see many more.

Your art of photography is beyond appreciation. Excellent indeed!!!

    You have a wonderful family!

    1. Thanks so much, Baili. I am happy you like my photos. I like to take and 'play' with them!

  5. Replies
    1. I know, Debra! Imagine! 44 years!! What the heck that's about!! lol

  6. 44 years! That is awesome! I'm so happy for you both and I wish you many more great years together.

  7. Hi, Congratulations on 44 years wishing you many more !!! I like the minimal island photo in the fog and the green one especially although I enjoy all your photo. Hope next week offers up as many choices.

  8. Your photos are always so interesting, Jim! Your editing style has moved into art! Loved the photo of Paula, Jo-Ann, and Ron ~ what a happy occasion!
