Eclectic Tastes
As the transition begins from summer to autumn,
something quiet and light is in order.......
so I leave you with Bach.
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

Saturday Morning Post
Enjoying late summer......
Our 'explorer series' roses are into their second blooms....I think this is 'Henry Hudson'.
The MacDonald House on the far hill.......
Going.....
.....going.....
.....gone (behind McNab's Island in Halifax Harbour)
What do you call a group of Cormorants?
Well...... a gulp.
One happy camper!
A view of Stony Beach looking west out of my shop....
Couldn't resist capturing this when I saw this group of sailboats this week....
looked like a ' mother and her brood'.
A zen moment......
It was very warm this week in Nova Scotia.
Gliding through the air......

Eclectic Tastes
I met Dale Kavanagh back in 1973-74 in Wolfville, Nova Scotia
where she lived and where I was attending Acadia University.
She and Ron were lifeguards together at the university pool.
She has become a well-known classical guitarist
and one of the guitar world's most gifted interpreters.
Enjoy her 'magic' and have a wonderful Sunday.

Saturday Morning Post
A little of this, and a little of that kind of week.....
Wild primrose everywhere this summer....
'Second showing' of wild roses/Rugosa Rosa at the park......
Morning cyclists along the 207......
Ron and Sophie chillin on the hill.....
The MacDonald House in mid-summer....
At Herring Cove west of Halifax.....
The Presbyterian Church of Saint David in downtown Halifax....
Beautifully sunlit stained-glass windows in the above church...
Ron and Louise, a friend of Ron's from junior high and visiting here with her family
in Nova Scotia, at Herring Cove last week.
Louise and I dropped in to see my sister, Mim, in downtown
Halifax while Ron was minding Sophie in a local park.
At the park in the city on Thursday while this fog rolled in
as quickly as it disappeared.....
Found a few 'mutant' (?) pink Queen Anne's Lace blossoms at the park.....
with the tiny drop of 'blood' in the middle.

Contemplative Monday
"When you sit, allow the Buddha in you to sit.
When you walk, allow the Buddha in you to walk.
Enjoy your practice.
If you don't become a Buddha,
who will?"

Eclectic Tastes
In 2008 I had a severe concussion due to a skating accident.
Part of my healing program was to listen to healing music
and Steven Halpern's music certainly helped on the road to recovery.
I have a number of his 'cds' and I have missed them.
Here is one of his pieces. Enjoy.
And have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

Saturday Morning Post
This week has been brought to you by the number '3'.......
A photograph made up of 3 distinct parts is supposedly easier to look at.
Looking up the Northwest Arm towards the city.....
Sh-h-h-h.......
Looks like 3 people but.....
At the river.....taken from the shop
3 sailboats.....
3 friends........spent a couple of days with Louise
an old school mate of Ron's who was here visiting with family
in Nova Scotia and with us.
Reminds me of an old vintage postcard.....
Sunset......
Sophie with Louise at Peggy's Cove....
standing by 3 BIG granite rocks.

Contemplative Monday
"The Buddha taught that we're not actually in control,
which is a pretty scary idea.
But when you let things be as they are,
you will be a much happier, more balanced, compassionate person."
