Saturday Morning Post

From tree to tree kind of week.......

Deep forest at the park in Halifax.......

Looking across Lake Banook in Dartmouth one evening this week.....

These three trees stood out as the sun was setting in the background.......

Looking out into our front garden at dusk......

Wondering if this well-hidden fire hydrant at the park works at all......

From my perch at the shop....I liked the blues in this......

Look up.....look way up.....

Sun and fog last Sunday while at the shop.......

Family beach time.....

  3. "Look up ... Look way up ...! I know exactly what voice to hear those words in! I still remember the fun of watching the Friendly Giant! Thanks for starting my Saturday morning with warm fuzzies! You've captured some wonderful images for this post: such a variety of moods and emotions in a few photos. The boat heading out into the blue struck me the most until I saw the last photo. That moves from photography into art. You would think that the strong, contrasting horizontal lines would dominate the photo, but that triangular composition of people and animals pulls you right into the center ~ especially with the unifying blue greys. And that water! Molten silver in a muted light. That photo, framed, could grace an art museum! (imho)! What makes it even more special is it was a singular moment in time, so fleeting, and you caught it, then elevated it into art! It's fascinating to see you and Ron photographing side by side, two talented photographers, with vividly contrasting styles! I'm glad you share your visions with all of us around the world!

    1. Hi Janie. Sophie and I were just down to the 'hill'. It was 13C......very cool but so refreshing.
the last time I was in Florida I almost fainted due to the heat and humidity!!
Sending some 'coolness', metaphorically, your way.

    2. Thank you, Sir. I don't leave the house from June to October unless I must. The heat is unbearable. Well, I do go swimming if I have the opportunity. I keep my car in the garage so I can at least get in it without burning my hands on the steering wheel. When I get groceries, I shop as quickly as possible and come home. I have as much delivered as I can. I don't allow the dogs out for more than a few minutes because on a trip to the vet, I saw a dog with heatstroke. Terrifying!

    1. Hello Barb.
Sophie watches us like a hawk. She never ventures too far ahead without looking back to see where we both are, and she will wait till we catch up. Photographers are always lagging behind, right?
