Saturday Morning Post

Absorbing the colour while it lasts....

Ron and Sophie waiting patiently for me to leave the shop on Wednesday.

Mild temperature (15C) and fog equals bright colours.

Lake Banook colour....

Great tree at the park.....

Sophie calmly waiting while Ron 'adjusts his spine'........
she wants Mr. Orangie back!!

Sophie meeting up a 'dog-walkers pack',
they all must inspect her at first.
She passed with flying colours!

House to rent for the winter months.......

A 'nursing stump' at the park.....
going back from whence it came.

Having fun with camera yesterday at park.
Ron showed me how to create different images
by swirling the camera around while clicking.

Not for the motionly-challenged. lol

Going Going........

Absorbing all the colour we can before the big 'whiteout' occurs.
I love this time of year when the garden is like a Monet painting.

Fall Reflection

For me fall is a time for reflection.
Things in nature begin to wind down,
people begin to hunker down for the winter
at least in the Northern Hemisphere.

It is dark now by 5:30 PM here in Nova Scotia,
and not too far down the road that will change to 4:30.

We will be getting the garden ready/prepared for winter.....
reminds me I have to find a door to fit the garden shed,
get the snow tires put on the car,
call the snow-removal guy to make sure he will clear the driveway
all winter long,
call the tree-guy to see if he can take down two birches
that may not be able to withstand any stormy winter,
oh right! Ron needs a new winter coat
so we will be searching high and low for one that suits him.

See? Lots on which to reflect before our winter arrives.

How about you guys? What do you have to do to get ready for winter?

Took this yesterday at Lake Banook in Graham's Grove Park in Dartmouth.

Contemplative Monday

The following is from 'Heart Advice, Weekly Quotes from Pema Chodron':

TRAFFIC JAMS

"If you can practice patience in the traffic jam with a sense of humour approach
or whatever approach you want to use,

you are training for really major difficulties in your life.
So, it sounds silly, but actually, it's true.

If you are sowing seeds of aggression in the traffic jam,
then you are actually perfecting the aggression habit.

And if you're using your sense of humour and your loving-kindness,
or whatever it is you do,

then you're sowing those kinds of seeds and strengthening
those kinds of habits;

you're imprinting those kinds of things in your unconscious.
So, the choice is really yours every time you are in a traffic jam."
