Saturday Morning Post

Out and about this week.......

Getting ready for the 'Bluenose Marathon' last weekend at the park in Halifax.

Even though this fallen tree didn't get a chance to 'add' colour,
it did make its presence known.

Breathtaking at the Gaspereaux canal this week....

Picture perfect, I'd say!

Andy and Ann Raggedy at the shop.....

Parade of sail coming up the Northwest Arm in Halifax.....

First day on the water.......

Sailing....

Hello up there!

Walking on water?.....

All part of having a dog in your life........

Contemplative Monday

"We think that the point is to pass a test
or to overcome the problem,
but the truth is that things really don't get solved.
They come together and they fall apart."

Saturday Morning Post

Spring is everywhere.......

....in the Gaspereaux Valley

....all around this old tin-roofed barn

.....on this shrub at the park

.....on the face of this Red Squirrel

.....growing out of this moss

.....along the banks of the canal

.....riding past us along this trail

.....in the mist of this view across the Lawrencetown River

.....in Sophie's calm expression as she settles onto her favourite spot on MacDonald Hill

.....on this road along the canal

.....in the sheer joy on Sophie's face

.....and in these tender green leaf-shoots at the park

Contemplative Monday

" Every morning, when we wake up, we have twenty-four
brand-new hours to live.
What a precious gift.
We have the capacity to live in a way that these twenty-four hours
will bring peace, joy, and happiness to ourselves and others."

Time Is On Our Side......Yes It Is.....

......now, what we do with that time is another story.

I have always tried to remain in the present as best I can.
That way 'time' doesn't seem to be slipping back into the past
and away into the future.

I really think our past misgivings and future fears consume us.
And we wonder where the time has gone.

Today, nine years ago, my mother passed away.
I remember that morning as if it was yesterday.
There was a calmness in her house that wasn't there for a very long time.
She found peace.

This sundial is in our garden and keeps very good time.
It was just past 4:30 PM when I took this photo.

Saturday Morning Post

Hit the road this past week........

Buddha, sea glass and petrified wood......

What looked like a skull and horns/antlers yesterday at the beach,
turned out to be driftwood.

Just the trees needing to 'green out' and then this picture will be complete....
at the park.

This fella passed by us this week while in Gaspereaux Valley this week.

While in the valley we finally, after a few years of planning to,
dropped into Gaspereaux Valley fibres.
We were not disappointed as can be seen in following photos...

A sample of what is produced here....

....using everything/anything to display their products

There was a weaving class going when we were there, so we tried to be inconspicuous.

Very rustic.....

One of the 'sources' providing the fibre....

As we left the fibre farm, this barn was across the road.

A 'drive-by' shot of this field and top of house.
