A Princely Time

Look who was in town yesterday!

His Royal Highness Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales (in blue suit/right).

Following behind in red tie is our Premier Stephen McNeil,
and in the middle our mayor, Michael Savage.

HRH was here in Halifax for 24 hours and in the Public Gardens
where he planted an Oak tree next to the one his grandfather,
King George VI, planted in 1939. The plaque in lower right
corner commemorates that visit.

I was surprised at the number of people who showed up to see the Prince.

May sound odd but I always felt a 'kindred spirit' with Prince Charles
as we were born in the same year.....1948.

I often thought while growing up what it would have been like to be born a Prince.

Boy, would things have been different. I am not saying better by any means....just different.

I am sure there are times when he may have wondered the same thing.

I was happy I got a chance to see Prince Charles yesterday.
